The Union oil surplus under the production sharing regime increased 74% in October, compared to September, registering a daily average of 7 thousand barrels of oil. Of this total, 4 thousand bpd (barrels of oil per day) were produced in the Mero Development Area, 3 thousand bpd in Entorno de Sapinhoá and 40.7 bpd in Sudoeste de Tartaruga Verde. The increase was the result of the resumption of activities in the Mero Development Area, after scheduled stops to change an 8-inch line to a 6-inch line. Since the beginning of the historical series in 2017, the Union has accumulated 7.2 million barrels of oil. The data are part of the Monthly Bulletin of Production Sharing Contracts prepared by Pré-Sal Petróleo (PPSA) and released on Tuesday (15).

Total oil production in October showed a daily average of 44 thousand barrels of oil in the three contracts, 27 thousand bpd in the Mero Development Area, 6 thousand bpd in Entorno de Sapinhoá and 11 thousand bpd in Sudoeste de Tartaruga Verde. Since 2017, the accumulated production of the three contracts is 44.9 million barrels of oil.

Natural gas

The two contracts for commercial use of natural gas registered an average daily production of 111 thousand m³ in October. Surrounding Sapinhoá produced 31 thousand m³ per day and Sudoeste de  Tartaruga Verde, 80 thousand m³ per day.

The daily average of the natural gas surplus for the Union in October was 15 thousand m³ per day, referring to the contracts of the Entorno de Sapinhoá (14,954 m3 / d) and Sudoeste de Tartaruga Verde (305 m3 / d). The natural gas produced in Mero, with a high CO2 content, is injected into the reservoir to increase oil production. So far, there is no forecast for its commercialization.
