The SENAI-RN Innovation and Technology Hub will host the "Renewables Innovation Workshop – RN and Norway" this Friday (10), organized by the government of Rio Grande do Norte in collaboration with the Consulate General of the European country. The event, scheduled for invited guests, will commence at 9:30 am.
The agenda will bring together experts from Norwegian universities such as Oslo, Bergen, and Norce, the SENAI Innovation Institute in Renewable Energies (ISI-ER), the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), and the State Department of Economic Development. Presentations during the workshop will provide insights into investments and innovative projects in offshore wind and solar energy in both markets.
The Workshop will feature the participation of the President of the Federation of Industries of Rio Grande do Norte (FIERN) and the Regional Council of SENAI-RN, Roberto Serquiz, the Director of SENAI-RN and ISI-ER, Rodrigo Mello, and the Consul General of Norway in Brazil, Mette Tangen.
During the event, details about a joint public call that the Research Council of Norway (RCN) and the Brazilian Federal Agency for Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education (FINEP), a federal public agency linked to the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MCTI), aim to launch later this year will be presented.
According to information from FINEP, the objective of the call is to "strengthen skills and competencies in innovation in both countries by supporting projects involving technology development activities and the human resources necessary for promoting technologies to be applied in the oil and renewable energy sectors."
The Innovation Norway Promotion Agency has, since 2022, a memorandum of understanding with the Northeast Consortium for cooperation in Innovation and Energy.
