A delegation of technological innovation companies from Brazil and Portugal this month visited four cities in China’s Greater Bay Area as part of an exchange organised by the Macau Economic Bureau (DSE).

The delegation was made up of representatives from six incubators from Portugal and Brazil and from companies included in the incubators, totalling 16 entrepreneurship teams. The visit and exchange activities took place from 8 to 11 September in the cities of Zhuhai, Guangzhou, Dongguan and Shenzhen.

Organised to boost Macau’s role as “Youth and Entrepreneurship Exchange Centre for Innovation in China and Portuguese-Speaking Countries” the visit also aimed to strengthen liaison between domestic and foreign technological innovation resources in order to support all parties to make business contacts and explore business cooperation.

The support provided by government entities promoting local entrepreneurship contributed to the present exchange action, and visits were organised to the advanced technology companies of the Greater Bay for the delegation of technological innovation companies from Brazil and Portugal, including Bringbuys, Pachira, CloudWalk, iFLYTEK, Guangdong Hiway Integrated Circuit Technology Co., Ltd. and Hytera, among others.

Participating companies from Brazil and Portugal said this action increased their understanding of the economic development and business environment of the Greater Bay, giving them a better understanding of the current state of technological development in China.

The DSE along with the Greater Bay entrepreneurship entities in Nansha (Guangdong), Songshan Lake (Dongguan) and Qianhai (Shenzhen) hosted a presentation by technology innovation companies from Brazil and Portugal, whose themes include artificial intelligence, big data, IoT, the health industry, marine life and renewable energy, among others.
