Engineer Jailson Galvão (photo) is the new CEO of PBGÁS. Jailson was elected by the company's Board of Directors on the morning of Thursday (03) and took office with the mission, together with the collegiate board of the company, to recover and grow the natural gas market in Paraíba at this time of crisis caused by the pandemic.
The event was attended by the Secretary of Infrastructure, Water Resources and Environment of the State, Deusdete Queiroga, the chairman of the Board of Directors of PBGÁS, Marcelo Cavancante and company employees who wore masks and respected social distancing. Deusdete Queiroga welcomed Jailson Galvão, highlighting his experience to make PBGÁS grow in this moment of change with the approval by Congress of the new gas Law.
Former employee of Petrobras, a company where he worked for 35 years, Jailson Galvão is a mechanical and safety engineer at work and also a lawyer, with an MBA in business management. He worked for 14 years as Commercial Technical Director at Copergás and also worked at the same board at PBGÁS in 2018, accumulating extensive experience in the piped gas market.
The executive board of PBGÁS is now formed by the CEO, Jailson Galvão, who represents the shareholder State of Paraíba, by the Technical Commercial director, Paulo Campos, who represents Gaspetro, and by the Administrative Financial Director, Taciana Amaral, representative of Mitsui Gás .
The new CEO of PBGÁS, Jailson Galvão, stated that he assumes the role with the objective of contributing to the strengthening of the company at this moment that the new regulatory framework for gas in the country appears. "It is a moment that requires reflections in the face of regulatory changes and in this context we need to effectively strengthen the natural gas chain with new achievements for the State of Paraíba".
Jailson Galvão stressed that in view of the prospects of increasing national production, the supply of gas in the world market and the possible arrival of new suppliers, there is an expectation of a more competitive price of the product for the market, including for Natural Gas ( CNG). “It is a moment that will require a lot of effort from us to make new industrial arrangements possible for the State, starting, for example, from the expansion of the gas pipeline network to Cabedelo and Caaporã and the internalization of gas, expanding the pipeline infrastructure and the offer gas to the Paraiba market, ”said Galvão.
