On 6 and 7/10, the ANP participated in the annual general meeting of the International Regulators Forum (IRF), the first held on a virtual basis. The Agency was represented by the interim director general, Raphael Moura, and by employees in the area of operational safety and the environment.
The IRF is composed of bodies from 11 countries that regulate health and safety issues in the offshore oil and gas industry, with Brazil represented by the ANP. Members pledge to work together to advance the protection of industry and environmental workers.
"The participation of the ANP in the annual meeting of the IRF aims to share information and exchange experiences between regulators of offshore operational safety. This collaboration, which only intensifies, brings great benefits to the ANP and allows us to be in the state of the art. -art in terms of operational safety regulation, "said the interim director general.
This year's IRF meeting provided an opportunity for members to continue to share information about the ongoing challenges created by Covid-19 and to discuss with industry associations the steps needed to reduce the risks associated with the pandemic, now and in the future.
The member bodies discussed with the representatives of the international industry the performance of the sector last year, the review of priorities and strategic topics, such as well control, digitization, investigation of incidents and lessons learned, as well as the continuity of measures consistent with the recommendations of public health to reduce the risks of Covid-19 transmission.
The IRF member countries are: Australia, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Ireland, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, the United Kingdom and the United States.
