The Ministry of Mines and Energy published the issue no. 140 / october 2018, of the Monthly Bulletin for the Follow-up of the Natural Gas Industry.
The publication presents the balance of natural gas in Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile and Uruguay, as well as national data - reserves, production, gas allocation, imports and domestic supply, consumption, prices, competitiveness and transport infrastructure -, among other information.
Highlights of October 2018
(Comparative analysis in relation to the previous month)
Demand: Total demand fell from 92.5 to 85.0 million m³ / day, influenced by the lower consumption of the thermoelectric segment.
National supply: National supply rose from 52.1 to 60.7 million m³ / day, reflecting higher domestic production and lower reinjection.
National production: National production rose from 112.9 million m³ / day to 117.0 million m³ / day. The field of Mexilhão (non-associated gas) was the one that contributed most to the increase in production.
Natural gas reinjection: The reinjection decreases from 39.5 to 35.1 million m³ / day, being more significant in the State of Rio de Janeiro.
Imported gas supply: The decrease in demand coupled with the increase in domestic supply meant that the imported supply was reduced from 47.6 to 29.9 million m³ / day.
LNG regasification: The reduction of imported supply was achieved through the lower regasification of LNG, which went from 23.2 to 3.7 million m³ / day.
