The Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) made available, this Monday (01/18), a public consultation containing the guidelines and systematic of the Auctions for the Purchase of Electricity from New Generation Enterprises, called New Energy Auction “A- 5 ”, from 2021; and New Energy Auction “A-6”, 2021.

The auctions are scheduled to take place sequentially on September 30, 2021, and are intended to supply the market growth of the distributors of the Interconnected System (SIN) in the years 2026 and 2027, respectively.

Nos Leilões de Energia Nova “A-5” e “A-6”, de 2021, serão negociados Contratos de Compra de Energia no Ambiente Regulado (CCEARs) com período de suprimento variando entre 15 e 25 anos, em que poderão ser ofertados empreendimentos hidrelétricos, eólicos, solares, termelétricos a biomassa, carvão mineral nacional, gás natural e de recuperação energética de resíduos sólidos urbanos.

Thermoelectric ventures may compete without restriction of operating inflexibility limit, being allowed to declare inflexibility considering monthly values of seasonal inflexibility.

The declarations of need for the competitions must be submitted by the distribution agents between 26 and 30 July 2021, according to the model to be made available on the MME website.

Contributions to the public consultation can be sent until 7 February.
