The Seminar "1 year of Gas Law" will be held next Monday, April 11, from 10 am, at Hotel VIDAM, in Aracaju (SE), to celebrate the first year of Law nº 14.134/21, known as "New Gas Law". The objective is to discuss the main changes and achievements based on the new regulatory framework and analyze the next steps to ensure the full potential of opening up the natural gas market is reached.
The event will bring together the main companies, associations and experts in the sector and will count with the participation of the Minister of Mines and Energy, Bento Albuquerque, the Governor of Sergipe, Belivaldo Chagas, and the rapporteur of the law, Deputy Laércio Oliveira. The Brazilian Association of Independent Oil and Gas Producers (ABPIP) is one of the sponsors of the seminar and will be represented by the executive secretary (photo). "The expectation is that we can deepen the discussion of topics such as improvements and harmonization of national regulation, promotion of competition and simplification of processes in this transition to the new natural gas market", he said.
Santos Jr. will compose the thematic panels, which will start at 2 pm, and in his speech he will address the need for a national pact and harmonization of state laws. For the executive secretary, the legal framework brings the necessary legal certainty to promote investments in infrastructure from the entry of new agents throughout the gas chain, diversify supply and boost consumption. "Now it is essential and urgent to adapt the laws of the states, in order to guarantee harmony between state and Union attributions, so that there is a full promotion of investments, and consequently of economic development, income generation and employment throughout the world. Brazil", he explained.
In addition to ABPIP, the seminar has the support of the Brazilian Institute of Oil and Gas (IBP), the Association of Large Industrial Energy Consumers and Free Consumers (ABRACE), the Brazilian Association of Glass Industries (ABIVIDRO), the Brazilian Association the Energy Traders (ABRACEEL), the Association of Natural Gas Transport Companies by Gas Pipeline (ATGás), FIES, the Gas Forum and the Union for Energy.
