The ANP held on 06/22 the 2nd Seminar on Instruments for the Dissemination of Information on Oil and Natural Gas Exploration. During the event, data on oil and gas exploration in the country were presented, available in the Annual Exploration Report 2021 and in the Dynamic Panel of the Exploration Phase. Among the information presented, there was an increase of approximately 38% in the number of exploratory wells drilled in 2021, when 22 were drilled, compared to 2020, when 16 were drilled.

The number of blocks under contract remained stable, totaling 246 both at the end of 2020 and at the end of 2021. Between 2016 and 2021, 27 declarations of commerciality were made, with emphasis on the ten in the Recôncavo Basin and the seven in the from Santos. In 2021, three declarations of commerciality were made, one in the Parnaíba Basin and two in the Recôncavo Basin.

During the opening, ANP Director Fernando Moura also presented investment data planned for 2022, a consequence, in part, of the Agency's measures to encourage the sector. "The ANP is permanently attentive to the conjunctural impacts on the exploration segment. The efforts of the ANP to generate mechanisms of a regulatory nature that would allow the contracted parties the option of extending the exploration phase of the contracts confirms that the Agency and the country where contracts are terminated, committed investments canceled and jobs lost. The Director also highlighted the importance of the ANP's dissemination instruments. And, in line with the With the objective of periodic, simple and easily accessible disclosure of data held by the ANP, the Agency recently also made available a new version of the Dynamic Panel of the Exploration Phase. add value to information and with the aspirations of the information society of quality and knowledge", he said.

The Exploration Phase Dynamic Dashboard, also featured at the event, was recently updated with historical data from 1998 on completed Discovery Assessment Plans, declarations of commerciality and exploratory wells drilled, making it possible to observe the drilled wells that have filed a discovery notice.
