The ANP (National Petroleum Agency) is launching today (March 10) the Dynamic Incident Panel for Exploration and Production, which presents information received by the ANP in accordance with Resolution ANP No. 822/2022. The resolution establishes the procedure for incident communication and the submission of investigation reports by operators of oil and natural gas exploration and production (E&P) contracts, as well as other companies authorized to carry out activities regulated by the Agency.

The information in the panel is of interest to E&P companies, as it provides more detailed data on incidents occurring in the country, thereby encouraging a culture of prevention in facilities under their responsibility. The panel will also allow academia to conduct more in-depth studies on the subject.

The panel enables daily updates of incident information. Prior to the launch of this new tool, such data could only be accessed in open data format, with updates occurring semiannually.

Data Available in the Dynamic Incident Panel for Exploration and Production:

  • ANP Resolutions related to incident communication in E&P;
  • Types of incidents that must be reported to the ANP: accidents (events with damage to the environment or human health, material losses to own or third-party property, or interruptions in facility operations) and near accidents (events with potential for damage) as per Resolution ANP No. 822/2022;
  • Total number of incidents reported annually to the Agency;
  • Detailed data on incidents in maritime and land environments;
  • Safety alerts from international organizations disseminated by the ANP.

The panel also provides guidance to facilitate navigation.

In addition to the Dynamic Incident Panel for Exploration and Production, other panels with operational safety data in E&P are also available on the ANP website:
