OTC Brasil 2025 Kicks Off in One Week with a Packed Program and Focus on Innovation and Energy Transition

The countdown is on: one week to go until OTC Brasil 2025, Latin America’s leading offshore energy event, taking place October 28–30 at ExpoRio Cidade Nova, in Rio de Janeiro. Organized by the Brazilian Petroleum and Gas Institute (IBP) and the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), the event will bring together over 20,000 participants from more than 20 countries, 150 national and international speakers, and over 200 exhibitors, across dozens of technical sessions and thematic arenas—consolidating its position as the largest technical and executive networking platform for Brazil’s offshore industry.

At the previous edition, held in 2023, OTC Brasil hosted around 180 exhibitors and over 24,000 visitors—figures expected to be surpassed this year.

The 2025 program reflects the industry’s ongoing transformation under the theme “The Future of Deepwater Technologies: Connecting Oil & Gas and Renewables.” It highlights how Brazil’s expertise in deepwater operations connects with the global energy transition. Confirmed panels and plenary sessions will feature executives from Petrobras, Shell, TotalEnergies, Equinor, Chevron, SLB, Halliburton, TechnipFMC, BW Energy, Brava Energia, TBG, and Prio.

Key sessions include: Exploring the Equatorial Margin, Women at the Forefront of Energy Innovation, CCUS and Initiatives to Reach Net Zero, Digitalization in Offshore Operations: The Role of AI in Tackling Industry’s Biggest Challenges, as well as conferences on offshore wind and natural gas monetization in South America.

Opening Ceremony

The opening ceremony on October 28 will feature Roberto Ardenghy, President of IBP; Maiza Pimenta Goulart, Chair of OTC Brasil 2025; Artur Watt, Director General of ANP; Magda Chambriard, President of Petrobras; Patrick Brunnings, Minister of Suriname; José Alexandre Barroso, Secretary of Oil and Gas of Angola; Carlos Mastrangelo, OTC Board Member; and Clécio Luis, Governor of Amapá.

Throughout the event, executives such as Cristiano Pinto da Costa (Shell Brasil), Olivier Bahabanian (TotalEnergies), Jim Sessions (Baker Hughes), and Magda Chambriard (Petrobras) will join the Executive Dialogues series to discuss industry outlooks, emerging technologies, and energy transition challenges.

“OTC Brasil is a showcase of the country’s most advanced offshore technologies — a space that connects Brazilian expertise with the future of the global energy transition. This is a moment to reaffirm Brazil’s leadership in innovation, sustainability, and international energy dialogue,” emphasizes Roberto Ardenghy, President of IBP.

Innovation & Awards

A major highlight will be the Pitch iUP Innovation Connections, promoted by iUP – IBP’s innovation hub, which will spotlight startups offering technological solutions for the oil, gas, and energy sectors. Up to 15 startups have been selected to pitch their projects to investors and major companies during the event, reinforcing the growing importance of open innovation in the energy value chain.

The event will also host the traditional Distinguished Achievement Award Ceremony, which this year will honor Ronaldo Rossi for his contributions to the development of deepwater mooring systems, and Petrobras’ Búzios 7 Project, recognized for its efficient and innovative execution of a complex offshore development.

Networking with a Brazilian Flavor

The social program kicked off the week with “Feijoada in Rio”, held at the Fairmont Hotel in Copacabana — a celebration of Brazilian culture and hospitality that brings together executives, government representatives, and global industry leaders in an informal networking and cultural exchange environment.
