Oxiteno, leader in the production of surfactants and specialty chemicals in Latin America, established an agreement for technological collaboration with the Mexican Petroleum Institute (IMP). Well-positioned in Brazil, the company aims to expand its presence in the Americas through partnerships such as this one. The objective of the agreement is to share technological know-how, focusing on the discovery and improvement of solutions for the oil sector. It is Oxiteno´s first international agreement in this segment.

According to Nádia Armelin, Research & Development Manager for Oxiteno, the partnership with IMP is aligned with the company´s objectives for the Americas. “Our focus is on being recognized by the oil and gas industry as the best alternative when it comes to developing and supplying increasingly innovative chemical solutions. Collaboration with IMP is expected to accelerate the discovery of new products for the petroleum industry, in addition to broadening Oxiteno´s frontiers”, explains Nádia.

The company has contributed to technological innovation in the oil and gas industry by providing solutions that support exploration through refinement. Oxiteno´s technologies are used in oil exploration, processing and gas treatment. Its diverse portfolio contains solutions for drilling fluids, solvents for stimulation, emulsion preventers, hydrate inhibitors, demulsifying agents, gas treatment products and foaming agents.

Alexandre Mesquita, Business Manager for Oxiteno, points out that cooperative efforts like this one are extremely important, since they can quickly translate into technological solutions for the regional challenges facing the sector, including better productivity in mature wells, exploration in deep water and exploration of shale gas.

With solid technological expertise in surfactants and solvents, and a strong productive capacity strategically distributed throughout the Americas, Oxiteno is becoming an increasingly viable alternative for the supply of chemical solutions to the Oil & Gas sector.
