The P-66 platform’s first modules, built at the Tomé Ferrostaal Consortium’s Module Plant located at the Port of Maceió, Alagoas, are now ready and loaded on the São Tomé barge. The oil processing module (M08) and the oil processing and produced water treatment module (M10) will be taken on the barge to the Brasfels Shipyard in Angra dos Reis, Rio de Janeiro. The barge is expected to depart the Port of Maceió tomorrow (October 30) and arrive in Angra dos Reis on November 12. Another barge, called São Luís, will transport the launcher, receiver and manifold modules (M09A and M09B) by the end of November.

The Brasfels Shipyard was hired to integrate the P-66 and P-69 platforms. This integration work includes hoisting the modules, installing them on the hull, interconnecting the modules to one another and the hull’s systems, and then testing everything. The P-66 platform’s hull is currently in the final testing phase at the Rio Grande 1 Shipyard (ERG-1), located in the city of Rio Grande, in Rio Grande do Sul, and it will also be shipped to Angra dos Reis before the end of November.

A ceremony was held today (Wednesday, October 29) to deliver the modules and christen the São Tomé and São Luís barges, both specially built for the “Replicants” project. Both barges, which belong to the Tomé Ferrostaal Consortium, were built at the Juruá Shipyard in Manaus, Amazonas.

The P-66 is the first platform in a series of six “Replicant” floating production, storage and offloading units (FPSOs), which are being built to meet pre-salt oil production demands in the Santos Basin. The completion and shipment of the modules fabricated in Maceió mark the start of the integration phase for the “Replicant” FPSOs, which will contribute to production capacity to help Petrobras achieve its target of producing 4.2 million barrels per day in 2020.
