Petrobras today (28/12) completed the sale of its 49% interest in Petrobras Gás S.A. (Gaspetro) to Mitsui Gás e Energia do Brasil Ltda (Mitsui-Gás). Gaspetro is a holding company consolidating Petrobras’ interests in state natural gas distributors.

The transaction was completed to with the payment of R$1.93 billion by Mitsui-Gás, following compliance with all the requirements laid down in the Share Purchase Agreement signed on October 23, 2015, including unreserved final approval from CADE, Brazil’s antitrust authority.

This transaction, initiated by competitive bidding, is part of the Divestment Program in the 2015-19 Business and Management Plan and has enabled Petrobras to achieve its target of US$ 700 million for 2015, announced on October 5 last.
