Petrobras participates in OTC Brasil 2025, in Rio de Janeiro

President Magda Chambriard joins the opening session of the conference, which will honor Búzios 7 with the OTC Distinguished Achievement Award.

Petrobras will take part in the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC Brasil 2025), to be held from October 28 to 30 at Expomag, in Rio de Janeiro. The conference is one of the world’s largest events in the oil and gas sector, bringing together experts to discuss innovations, trends, and key challenges for the industry.

In this edition, Petrobras will receive the OTC Distinguished Achievement Award for the Búzios 7 project. The award recognizes achievements that have had a lasting positive impact on the industry. According to OTC, the Búzios 7 project “introduced technological innovations that set new standards for the sector.”

Petrobras President Magda Chambriard will participate in the opening session of the event on Tuesday (Oct 28), at 9 a.m.

Exploration and Production Director Sylvia Anjos will participate in three sessions. On Wednesday (Oct 29), she will be a speaker at the panel “Exploration and Development in Brazil: Opportunities, Challenges, and Perspectives,” at 9:30 a.m. Later that day, at 4:30 p.m., she will speak at the panel “Exploring the Equatorial Margin: Opportunities and Challenges.”

On Thursday (Oct 30), she will moderate the session “The Sea Is Also Female – A Pact for Gender Equality Offshore,” at 2:30 p.m. In addition to being the moderator, Sylvia will also be one of eight women honored for their contributions to the offshore industry.

Also on Thursday (Oct 30), at 3:45 p.m., Energy Transition and Sustainability Director Angélica Laureano will speak on “Monetizing Gas Resources in South America: Strategies for Success.”

Daily Program

Petrobras will have a strong presence throughout the event. On the first day of the conference (Tuesday, Oct 28), Lilian Melo, Executive Manager of the Research and Development Center (CENPES), will speak on “Women at the Forefront of Energy Innovation,” at 2:30 p.m. At 3 p.m., Maria Assunção Doria, Executive Manager of Reservoirs, will discuss “Enhancing Recovery Factor in Mature Basins.” At 5 p.m., Petrobras will also participate in the panel “Energy Sector Challenges Through the Lens of COP 30.”

On Wednesday (Oct 29), Dimitrios Chalela, Executive Manager of Production Development Projects, will speak at the panel “Decommissioning Potential and Offshore Platform Reuse,” at 1:45 p.m. Immediately after, at 2 p.m., Paulo Marinho de Paiva Neto, Manager, will address “Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS): Innovations for a Sustainable Future.” On Thursday (Oct 30), Alexandre Alves, Executive Manager of Supplies, will present on “Brazil’s Offshore Supply Chain: Perspectives and Insights from Operators and Suppliers.”

Best Suppliers Award

Now in its eighth edition, the Best Suppliers Award will take place during OTC Brasil, recognizing 32 Petrobras supplier companies in a ceremony on Thursday (Oct 30), at 9 a.m. The award comprises 37 categories, six of which are focused on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives. The recognition highlights suppliers in the oil and gas supply chain with outstanding performance in the delivery of goods and services, based on criteria such as timeliness, management, quality, health, environment, safety, and value generation.
