On July 13th, Petrobras and Porto Central signed a contract to carry out transshipment operations for oil and oil products at the liquid bulk terminal of Porto Central, under development in the municipality of Presidente Kennedy, in the south of the state of Espírito Holy.
Porto Central is currently the only port project in the implementation phase capable of meeting the growing oil production, which demonstrates its relevance in the logistics matrix of the major players in the market.
“Having the largest player in the oil and gas industry in Brazil as one of the clients of Porto Central, together with other international oil companies, reinforces the importance of the project for the market”, said the President of Porto Central, José Salomão Fadlalah.
The liquid bulk terminal at Porto Central will have a depth of 25 meters and four berths capable of receiving ships of the VLCC class with a capacity of 2 million barrels of oil. Porto Central is currently the only port project in the implementation phase capable of meeting the growing oil production, which demonstrates its relevance in the logistics matrix of the major players in the market.
The First Phase of the port will consolidate the beginning of the development of the Central Port Energy Hub. In addition to meeting the demand for handling crude oil and importing and distributing oil products, it will also serve the demand for natural gas, as well as clean energy generation, through solar and wind projects, which will also enable large-scale production of hydrogen and green ammonia to serve the international and domestic markets.
