The Focus Energia group announced the implementation of a solar park in Juazeiro, Bahia, during the signing of a protocol of intentions with the State Government, at the headquarters of the Secretariat for Economic Development (SDE), last Wednesday (03). R $ 2.2 billion will be invested in the construction of Futura photovoltaic plants, with an installed production capacity of approximately 2 Gigawatts (GW) / year. According to the company, in the construction phase of the parks, 2 thousand direct jobs and 9 thousand indirect jobs will be generated, in addition to 25 direct jobs in the operation phase.
“Another protocol of intentions, more than R $ 2 billion that we have now signed with Focus, a large energy sales company, which is migrating from hydroelectric to renewable energy. This complex will be added to the others in operation that already make Bahia the national leader in the sector ”, celebrates vice-governor João Leão, secretary of the portfolio.
According to Alexandre Oliveira, director of Focus Energia, the forecast is that the construction of the photovoltaic plants will start in two months. The forecast is that the parks will begin commercial operation at the end of the first half of 2022 and be 100% operational at the beginning of 2023. “Solar plants are already being installed in Brazil, but in Bahia we have an important milestone for having one of the best potentials solarimetric systems in Brazil, with large plants ”, he says.
