Production of oil and natural gas from facilities operated by Petrobras in the pre-salt layer exceeded 1 million boed during September, with output averaging 1.028 million boed, and reaching a record level of 1.12 million boed on the 15th of the month.
September 15 also set a new daily pre-salt oil output record at 901,000 barrels. Average daily pre-salt oil output over the month of September stood at 828,000 barrels per day (bpd).
Oil and natural gas output in September
Petrobras average oil and natural gas output for September, both in Brazil and abroad, stood at 2.72 million, a on the 2.88 million boed recorded in August, which was a record month for the Company.
Oil output in Brazil to September reached an average of 2.13 million bpd
Petrobras average oil production in Brazil to September was 2.13 million bpd. During the month of September, oil production reached 2.06 million bpd. The 6.7% on the August production figure (2.21 million bpd) was mainly due to scheduled routine maintenance shutdowns on large platforms, and in particular platform P-52.
Natural gas production, excluding liquefied gas, was 75.0 million m3/day in September, 2.8% down on the previous month’s figure (77.2 million m3/day).
This resulted in total oil and natural gas output in Brazil during September of 2.53 million boed, 6% down on the August figure (2.69 million boed).
Oil and gas output abroad
Outside Brazil, September’s figure of 188,000 boed showed a 1.5% on the 192,000 boed produced in August. This was mainly due to cleaning operations on the export gas pipeline in the Nigerian Akpo field, as well as the expiration of the concession of part of the Jaguel de los Machos block in the La Pampa province of Argentina.
Average oil production in September was 97,000 bpd, 4.4% down on the 101,000 bpd achieved in August. This was also attributable to the facts mentioned above.
Average natural gas production abroad stood at 15.5 million m³/d, an increase of 0.3% on the August figure of 15.4 million m³/d.
