The pre-salt production in April totaled 1.785 million boe / d, surpassing the 1,763 MMboe / d produced in February. There was an increase of 2.3% in relation to the previous month. A total of 1.423 million barrels of oil per day and 58 million cubic meters of natural gas per day were produced through 86 wells. The pre-salt production corresponded to 54.4% of the total produced in Brazil.

The pre-salt wells are those whose production is carried out in the geological horizon called pre-salt, in fields located in the area defined in section IV of caput of article 2 of Law 12,351 / 2010.

National Production

In April 2018, the country's oil and gas production was approximately 3.281 million barrels of oil equivalent per day.

There were produced 2.597 million barrels of oil per day (bbl / d), an increase of 1.5% compared to the previous month and of 2.3% compared to April 2017.

Natural gas production totaled 109 million cubic meters per day, an increase of 1.7% compared to the previous month and 6% compared to the same month of 2017.

The production data for April are available on the ANP's Monthly Bulletin of Petroleum and Natural Gas Production:http://www.anp.gov.br/publicacoes/boletins-anp/2395-boletim-mensal-da-producao-de-petroleo-e-gas-natural.

Use of natural gas

The use of natural gas in Brazil in April reached 96.9% of the total volume produced. 59.7 million cubic meters per day were made available to the market.

Gas flaring totaled 3.4 million cubic meters per day, an increase of 3% compared to the previous month and 3.6% compared to the same month in 2017.

Producer fields

The Lula field, in the Santos Basin, was the largest producer of oil and natural gas. It produced, on average, 898 thousand bbl / d of oil and 38 million m3 / d of natural gas.

Marine fields produced 95.6% of oil and 82.9% of natural gas. The production occurred in 7,519 wells, being 727 seafarers and 6,792 terrestrial. The fields operated by Petrobras produced 94.1% of the oil and natural gas.

Estreito, in the Potiguar Basin, had the largest number of producing wells: 1,055. Marlim Sul, in the Campos Basin, was the maritime field with the largest number of producing wells: 94.

The FPSO Cidade de Saquarema, producing in the field of Lula, was the installation with greater production of oil. It produced 149.6 Mbbl / d through 7 interconnected wells.

The Arara Azul plant, producing in the fields of Arara Azul, Araracanga, Carapanaúba, Cupiúba, Rio Urucu and Southwest Urucu, through 36 interconnected wells, produced 7.9 MMm3 / d and was the installation with the highest production of natural gas.

Other information

In April 2018, 300 concession areas, an onerous assignment area and a sharing area, operated by 29 companies, were responsible for domestic production. Of these, 77 are maritime and 225 are terrestrial. It is worth mentioning that, of the total of the producing areas, seven are related to contracts of areas containing marginal accumulations.

The average degree API was 27.2, with 39.6% of the production considered light oil (> = 31 ° API), 46.3% medium oil (> = 22 API and <31 API) and 14.1% oil heavy (<22 API).

The mature terrestrial basins (fields / long-term tests of the Espírito Santo, Potiguar, Recôncavo, Sergipe and Alagoas basins) produced 116.6 thousand boe / d, of which 92.4 thousand bbl / d of oil and 3.8 million m³ / d of natural gas. Of this total, 111,800 barrels of oil equivalent per day were produced by Petrobras and 4,800 boe / d for concessions not operated by Petrobras, with 345 boe / d in Alagoas, 2,155 boe / d in Bahia, 42 boe / d in Espírito Santo, 2,022 boe / d in Rio Grande do Norte and 216 boe / d in Sergipe.
