The total production in the three sharing contracts showed a daily average of 46 thousand barrels of oil per day (bpd) in January 2021. The Mero Development Area was responsible for 28 thousand bpd, followed by Entorno de Sapinhoá, with 8 thousand bpd, and Tartaruga Verde Sudoeste, with 10 thousand bpd. The information is part of the Monthly Bulletin of Production Sharing Contracts, prepared by Pré-Sal Petróleo (PPSA), manager of contracts on behalf of the Union. Since 2017, beginning of the historical series, accumulated production under production sharing is of 49 million barrels of oil.
The daily average of the total Union oil surplus in the three production sharing contracts was 9,200 bpd in January, 4,100 bpd in the Mero Development Area, 5,000 bpd in Entorno de Sapinhoá and 67 bpd in Tartaruga Verde Sudoeste, registering an increase of 7% in relation to the previous month. The accumulated share of the Union's oil surplus since 2017 is 7.9 million barrels of oil.
Natural gas
Natural gas produced an average of 274 thousand m³ per day, referring to the two contracts with commercial use, with 197 thousand m³ per day in the Entorno de Sapinhoá and 77 thousand m³ per day in Tartaruga Verde Sudoeste. Compared to the previous month, the volume of available gas increased by 15%.
The daily average of the total surplus in natural gas was 119 thousand m³ per day, referring to the contracts of the Entorno de Sapinhoá (118,831 m3 / d) and Tartaruga Verde Sudoeste (517 m3 / d). The result reflects an increase of 30% in relation to the previous month. The natural gas produced in Mero, with a high CO2 content, is being injected into the reservoir for an effective increase in oil production. So far, there is no forecast for its commercialization.
Since 2018, accumulated production totals 209 million m³ of natural gas with commercial use. The surplus in natural gas since 2017 is 56.1 million m³.
Currently, of the 17 contracts that operate under a production sharing regime, three are in production - Mero Development Area (Libra), Surroundings of Sapinhoá and Tartaruga Verde Sudoeste, operating four FPSOS and 18 wells.
