The Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) coordinated yesterday (06/15), the first ordinary meeting of the Executive Interministerial Committee of the Program for the Improvement of Exploration and Production Tenders for Oil and Natural Gas (BidSIM), conducted by the Secretary of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels, José Mauro Coelho (photo).

The Secretary highlighted the purpose, as well as the competences of the Committee and addressed the work fronts that will be the object of studies within the scope of this collegiate, stressing the importance of the BidSim Program for the continuous development of the oil and natural gas industry in Brazil.

The main objective of the Program is to increase the competitiveness and attractiveness of the areas to be offered in the bidding rounds for exploration and production of oil and natural gas in the country.

The Executive Interministerial Committee, composed of the Ministry of Mines and Energy, Civil House of the Presidency of the Republic, Ministry of the Economy and the National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels, is responsible for proposing improvements in governance and in the methodology of the exploration and production bidding rounds of oil and natural gas.

The work of the Executive Interministerial Committee is expected to be completed by December 2020.
