The ANP started yesterday (9/21) a public consultation, for 45 days, on the revision of the ANP2B Standard, which establishes the procedures for formatting and delivering multiphysical data to its Exploration and Production Database (BDEP).

Last reviewed in 2004, the normative instrument was submitted to an update process motivated by the need to align with international standards, in addition to adapting it to new technologies for the acquisition and processing of non-seismic geophysical data.

In parallel to the recent implementations of evolutionary automations made by the Agency, with the revision of the ANP2B Standard, ANP contributes to the digital transformation in the oil, natural gas and biofuels sector in Brazil.

Multiphysical data, in the case of E&P, are non-seismic geophysical data. Its technologies are associated with the methods of acquiring and processing gravimetric (Gravimetry), magnetometric (Magnetometry), electromagnetic, Magnetoteluric, Electromagnetic Transient, Multibeam Bathymetry (MultiBeam), Sub-Fund Profiling, Heat Flow and some others.

These data are used to integrate exploratory research with seismic methods. From this integration, it is possible to identify structural and stratigraphic features of a sedimentary basin to maximize the chances of success in locating and drilling a well. In some cases, electromagnetic data is also used to assist in pre-salt imaging and in monitoring oil reservoirs.

In general, the companies that generate these types of data are commonly known as Data Acquisition and Processing Companies (EADs). However, operators (E&P concessionaires) are considerable participants in this sector - this is the case of Petrobras, currently responsible for the largest digital volume of data delivery to BDEP. In other situations, universities and research institutions also carry out works that generate and consume multiphysical technical data.

The public hearing will be held on 7/12/2020, from 3 pm to 5 pm, by videoconference.
