President and directors of Petrobras present advances in the Brazilian pre-salt

Petrobras will have a prominent place at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) 2021, to be held between August 16 and 19, in Houston (USA). On Sunday (8/15), the company will be awarded the Distinguished Achievement Award for Companies, the main award in the world oil and gas industry, in recognition of the set of innovations developed to enable production in Búzios, the largest oil field in the world's deep waters, in the Santos Basin pre-salt. This will be the fourth time that Petrobras will receive this international distinction, after receiving the award in 1992 (innovations developed for the Marlim field, in the Campo Basin), 2001 (solutions for Roncador) and 2015 (set of technologies created for the pre-salt).

The advances that led Petrobras to receive this award will be detailed in the special session “Buzios Project: The Brazilian Pre-Salt Super Giant”, on Monday (8/16), at 9:30 am (local time). The company's general managers, Jaime Naveiro and Fernando Mendes, lead seven lectures with the participation of other Petrobras professionals, who will explain the innovations applied in the development of the field, from reservoirs, wells, elevation and drainage, to subsea and installation technologies of surface. Among them, the highlight was the presentation “Buzios: The Largest Ultra-deepwater Oilfield To Date”, by the executive manager of Búzios, Marcio Kahn.

Petrobras is recognized worldwide for its mastery of offshore oil production technology with safety, efficiency, lower cost and lower emissions. These themes will be part of a series of technical sessions and panels with company executives. On Tuesday (8/17), at 9:30 am (local time), the director of Production Development at the company, João Henrique Rittershaussen, will be one of the speakers on the topic “The Brazilian Pre-Salt Development”, who will discuss the plans , challenges and opportunities of the Brazilian pre-salt for companies that intend to invest in the area. At 3:00 pm (local time), it will be the turn of the Institutional Relations and Sustainability Director, Roberto Ardenghy, to address the topic “Developments in Brazil's Energy Sector”. At 4 pm (local time), the panel "Sustainability, Innovation, and Digitalization" will be attended by the Director of Digital Transformation and Innovation at Petrobras, Nicolas Simone, who will discuss how innovation and technology are able to support the company to reduce emissions and costs, in addition to increasing production efficiency. On Wednesday (8/18), Petrobras president Joaquim Silva e Luna and Petrobras Exploration and Production director, Fernando Borges, will be at the Bratecc Offshore Breakfast 2021 panel, a parallel event whose theme is “Navigating The New Decade Of Brazil O&G: An Ocean of Opportunities from Onshore to Offshore, Transfer of Rights and More”.
