In addition to outstanding fuel production performance, the refinery recorded the highest utilization factor of processed feedstock in the past nine years.
T&B Petroleum/Petrobras AgencyThe Henrique Lage Refinery (Revap), located in São José dos Campos (SP), closed the first half of 2025 with historic records in the production of S10 diesel and kerosene. The unit also achieved, in the first six months, the highest total utilization factor (TUF) at its current reference capacity in the last nine years.
Between January and June, the refinery produced 1,187,913 cubic meters of S10 diesel—equivalent to approximately 1.2 billion liters—surpassing the previous record of 1,065,712 cubic meters set during the same period in 2024. This volume would be enough to fill the 400-liter tank of about 3 million buses.
Revap also reached a production volume of 1,082,860 cubic meters (around 1.1 billion liters) of kerosene in the first half of the year, representing the best result since 2024, when it produced 1,075,841 cubic meters. This volume includes the production of Jet-A (aviation fuel), medium solvent, and illuminating kerosene.
With a total utilization factor of 97.55%, Revap posted its best operational performance since the unit returned to a processing capacity of 40,000 m³/day in mid-2015. The TUF calculation considers the volume of crude oil processed relative to the refinery's reference capacity and respects the design limits of the assets, along with safety, environmental, and quality standards for the products.
Operational availability also stood out. The refinery reached a rate of 97.29%. Considering that the maximum possible availability is 97.58%, the loss in the first semester was minimal. This indicates that the refinery’s units are increasingly available to operate without restrictions related to reliability.
Revap’s General Manager, Alexandre Coelho Cavalcanti, attributes these outstanding results to several factors, including ongoing work on the reliability plan and strong operational conditions, which allow for high processing levels of pre-salt oil.
“Revap’s record production of fuels such as S10 diesel and kerosene delivers real benefits to Brazilians: it boosts the economy, strengthens local production chains, and contributes to the country’s energy security,” says Coelho.
