Activities will last 20 days and will generate 150 jobs in the region
T&B Petroleum/Press OfficeThe Ecovix Group takes another step towards consolidating the recovery of its activities at the Rio Grande Shipyard. This weekend, three new ships arrived at the enterprise's dock for repairs. The vessels will remain in place for about 20 days for docking, treatment, painting, mechanics and boilermaking services.
Around 150 jobs will be generated in Rio Grande with the works, with the hiring of local labor, in addition to the movement of the hotel and food chain with the arrival of specialists from the vessels, coming from other regions of the country or abroad. The services will be carried out in partnership with DockBrasil, which has already worked with Ecovix on other repairs at the Shipyard.
The ships that arrived at the site are the Argentine Cabo Pilar, an Antares Naviera oil tanker, and two fishing vessels: the Chinese LQVY 279, from Quing Dao Yang Ocean Fishery, and the Spanish Jose Antonio Nores, from the Nores Group.
Up-to-date obligations
The arrival of the vessels comes in a week in which the Ecovix Group celebrated an important advance in its judicial recovery process. The group settled credits with 130 companies in class IV, formed by micro and small companies. In addition, secured credits (class II) have already been paid and obligations with the other classes are up to date.
On March 8, the 2nd Civil Court of Rio Grande ratified the amendment to the company's judicial recovery plan, approved on January 23. "These are important milestones for the implementation of our business plan, within our commitment to the development of the southern region. We have carried out ship repair and port activities and we are confident in the gradual resumption of shipbuilding", emphasizes the general director of Ecovix , Robson Passos.
The trustee, Laurence Medeiros, from Medeiros Administração Judicial, highlights the relevance and complexity of the process. "These are great steps that have been taken over the last five years, since the approval of the judicial recovery plan. This brings legal security to the company, the creditors and all the work of resuming naval activities", says the lawyer.
