President Dilma Rousseff's approval ratings have risen two percentage points from June to July, going from 33% to 35%, according to a poll released Thursday (July 3) by Datafolha. The figure reflects those who have rated her administration as “excellent” or “good” based on the survey answers. The portion of respondents who evaluate her government as “poor” or “very poor” amounted to 26%, down from last month's 28%.

Those who consider the government “neither good nor bad” remained at 38%, and 1% of respondents were unsure or declined to answer. The poll was carried out among voters aged 16 or older on July 1st and July 2nd, with a total 2,857 respondents in 177 municipalities. The margin of sampling error was plus or minus two percentage points.

The chief administrative aide to the presidency, Gilberto Carvalho, credited the improvement to the “good job” the government has been doing. “We realize how Brazilians are gradually recognizing the job President Rousseff and the current administration have been doing and I guess this will lead to increasingly better ratings.”
