Sebrae launches Bahia Oil & Gas Energy 2023, an international event held in May focusing on the oil and gas sector

From May 24th to 26th, Salvador will host the first edition of Bahia Oil & Gas Energy 2023, an international meeting focused on the oil and gas sector. To launch the event, Sebrae gathered, on Monday night (27), at the institution's headquarters, representatives of the oil and gas energy sector, partners and the press. Held by Sebrae's Onshore Pole and PetroNor, Bahia Oil & Gas Energy 2023 will take place at the Salvador Convention Center, with an expectation of 2,000 participants per day.

The launch highlighted the history of oil and gas in Brazil and Bahia, addressed the importance of the energy sector for the state and for the development of the country, its social and environmental context of investments in sustainability, and brought the main news about the international event .

Bahia Oil & Gas Energy will take place every two years with a focus on the oil and gas sector in the state of Bahia, addressing relevant issues in the segments of exploration and production (upstream), transport (midstream), refining (downstream), petrochemicals, naval and energy transition. The 2023 edition will consist of a technical conference, a business fair, an innovation arena, an ESG arena, business meetings (PetroSupply Meeting) and field visits.

The superintendent of Sebrae Bahia, Jorge Khoury, highlighted the importance of the institution's role in creating a favorable environment for the sector, in the context of the productive chain of micro and small companies. “It is necessary to strengthen the business environment of these companies, relying on the understanding of public authorities in municipalities, states, and the Union, in order to avoid bureaucracy and constraints. Over the next 50 years, Sebrae's work with companies is fundamental and, above all, in creating this favorable environment where they can effectively develop their activities and prosper”, he said.

"We are preparing an event that not only matches the rich history and oil diversity of Bahia, but mainly the promising future that we see and that we want to happen", said PetroNor's director, Nicolás Honorato, who participated by videoconference directly from Canada .

The coordinator of Polo Sebrae Onshore, led by Bahia, Aline Lobo (photo), presented the structure and details of the event, the target audience of professionals who work directly and indirectly in the oil and gas sector, in addition to its objectives. “The event intends to consolidate itself as a reference in the sector, at the national level, bringing together its main actors to exchange experiences in the country and abroad, in addition to identifying and promoting business opportunities in an environment conducive to the development of the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem” , he stated.

Also present at the launch were the executive secretary of the Brazilian Association of Independent Petroleum Producers – ABPIP, Anabal Santos, and the coordinator of the Oil and Gas Committee of the State of Bahia, Eduardo Rappel, in addition to Sebrae managers from the other six states that make up the event. o Sebrae's Onshore O&G Center: Alagoas, Amazonas, Espírito Santo, Maranhão, Rio Grande do Norte and Sergipe. Led by Bahia, the Polo is a new strategy for Sebrae's performance and positioning in the Onshore Oil and Gas segment, which supports serving small businesses.

The event will be held by Sebrae's Onshore Pole and PetroNor, and co-organized with the strategic partnership of the Bahia Oil and Gas Committee, of ABPIP, with the support of other representative institutions of the sector, at state and federal level.
