The company has made it into the ranking of the Brazilian version of Technology Review, the content platform of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the largest publication in the field. The study evaluated the innovation capacity from the perspective of management, marketing, processes, and data-based products, based on data from over a thousand participants, including startups and multinational companies. José Borges Frias Jr., Corporate Innovation Head at Siemens, received the award recognizing the company as one of the most innovative in the country at a ceremony held in São Paulo.
Siemens has been chosen for the second year in a row as one of the 20 most innovative companies in Brazil. The Innovative Workplaces Brasil 2023 seal is promoted by MIT Technology Review, the content platform of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), considered the largest publication in the field worldwide. With over 120 years of tradition and reputation in creating reports, insights, analyses, and reviews, this is the second edition of the analysis conducted with Brazilian companies. The list was announced at a ceremony held at Teatro Unimed in São Paulo on June 29.
To reach the result, companies were divided into groups and analyzed from four different perspectives: management, marketing, processes, and products. Qualitative interviews were also conducted with executives from the organizations. In total, over a thousand companies of all sizes and sectors, ranging from startups to multinational corporations, participated.
"In addition to innovation projects in internal and external processes for our clients, we had a significant movement and communication within the company to motivate people to think about the subject and what they are doing in their daily lives to foster new perspectives. The industrial sector, one of our focuses, will continue its journey towards digitalization to achieve significant gains in productivity and competitiveness," says José Borges Frias Jr., Corporate Innovation Head at Siemens.
The 20 companies considered the most innovative by the publication are: Algar Tech, Boston Scientific, Bradesco Seguros, Brasilprev, Braskem, Carrefour, Claro, Generali, Hilab, Hospital Albert Einstein, iFood, Lojas Renner, Mercado Bitcoin, Nestlé, Octadesk, Petrobras, Siemens, Vibra Energy, VIVO, and Wemobi. The companies are listed in alphabetical order, and there is no ranking among them.
"Our goal is to foster a culture of innovation in the corporate environment in Brazil. We seek to promote the mature use of technology by rewarding good practices and providing reports with suggestions for improvement," highlights André Miceli, CEO of MIT Technology Review and coordinator of the research. He adds, "In addition to recognizing the capacity of these companies, we prioritize those that have delivered relevant projects in the last 12 months. By working in this way, we ensure that a significant portion of the positions in this ranking is currently renewed."
