Beginning this Monday (19), Brazilian exporters can access a special environment created to simulate operations and test the new features of the Single Foreign Trade Portal.
The testing will help iron out the new system’s details before it goes into production in February 2017. Information about the new process for exports is available at www.siscomex.gov.br.
“The main goal of the test is to allow operators to test the technological solutions developed for the Single Portal together with the government. Users can even suggest improvements and report any faults and inconsistencies in the system," said the Foreign Trade Secretary at the Brazilian Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services (MDIC), Abrão Neto,
The initiative aims to reduce possible disturbances when the system goes into effective operation and to allow the private sector to become familiar with the new tools. The secretary emphasised, however, that the operations in the test environment will be mere simulations. They will not be legally valid to carry sales abroad.
the test period ends next year, the first exports to be made through the new process will be those shipped by air. Other export modalities (maritime, rail, road and postal, for example) will be switched to the new tool in the first half of 2017.
The Single Foreign Trade Portal is the result of a joint effort between the Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services (MDIC) and the Secretariat of the Federal Revenue of Brazil (RFB).
