With 3,744 participants, the fourth edition of Sergipe Oil & Gas (SOG25) exceeded expectations, delivering high-level presentations, successful business deals, and widespread knowledge sharing. The growth of the event is evident in the numbers: 468 attendees in 2022, 722 in 2023, and 2,650 in 2024.

SOG25, which opened with the presence of Governor Fábio Mitidieri and closed with Petrobras director Sylvia Anjos, is now a well-established event in Brazil’s oil and gas sector calendar, drawing more companies and professionals each year.

Held from July 23 to 25 at the AM Malls Convention Center in Aracaju, the event welcomed 24% more visitors than the previous year and showcased 57 brands across 45 booths. It featured 90 speakers across 26 panels. The Business Roundtable brought together 11 buyer companies and 114 suppliers, resulting in 204 meetings. In total, 18 sponsors supported the event.

On the opening day, the governor signed two consultancy service contracts with Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV). The first, through the Secretariat for Economic Development and Science and Technology (Sedetec), aims to conduct a technical study on the state's port infrastructure. The second, with the Regulatory Agency for Public Services of the State of Sergipe (Agrese), seeks to assess how to leverage local human and technical resources in the decommissioning process of offshore platforms.

Exhibitor Satisfaction

Jaciara Lima from Gestmanc, a Sergipe-based company specializing in pipeline coatings—a key solution for the oil and gas sector—expressed great satisfaction with the trade fair. “This is our second time participating, and it was amazing. It opened many business opportunities, as demand for our services is high,” she said.

Antônio Prazeres, development manager for the city of Pojuca (Bahia), also praised the event’s results. Pojuca hosts a large number of service providers for oil companies, and the municipality set up a booth to attract more businesses. “We participated in the Bahia Oil & Gas in Salvador, which was a great success. We managed to attract four companies to set up in our city, and now at SOG, we’ve secured interest from four more,” he celebrated, emphasizing the goal of generating new local jobs.

A Wide Range of Activities

The event offered three days of extensive programming. One highlight was Startup Day, which gave visibility to local companies developing new technologies.

The Technical Section featured presentations on best practices and technical challenges in oil and gas exploration and production operations and maintenance.

The SOG Congress provided a dedicated space to discuss trends and key issues in the sector. The Commercial Arena enhanced visibility for local suppliers of goods and services to their target audience.

Additionally, the Business Roundtable connected local suppliers with large buyers. Other highlights included a business fair, the ESG Arena (focused on environmental, social, and governance practices), and the Future Talents Program aimed at young professionals entering the oil and gas industry.

Participants also had the opportunity to go on technical visits to companies in the sector—an up-close look at local industry operations across several tours.

The event also featured networking sessions, exclusive meeting spaces, and social moments for high-level connections.

Now firmly established as Sergipe’s annual reference event for the oil and gas industry, SOG26 will return to the AM Malls Convention Center in Aracaju from July 29 to 31, 2026.
