Sergipe, one of Brazil’s states with the greatest potential for oil and gas exploration, will host the fourth edition of the Sergipe Oil & Gas (SOG25) event from July 23 to 25, 2025. The AM Malls Convention Center in Aracaju will again welcome the trade fair and technical activities, which will be fully integrated and accessible to all industry professionals.

Organizers expect a substantial increase in attendance, aiming for 3,500 visitors, up from 2,650 in the previous year.

Registration will be free, and anyone interested, particularly professionals in the industry, is encouraged to participate.

Sergipe’s oil and gas sector is not only highly active and diversified compared to other Brazilian states, but it also holds significant development potential due to the discovery of large offshore oil and gas reserves by Petrobras in recent years. These reserves are already in the planning phase, with upcoming infrastructure development for production within this decade.

Petrobras will also contract two FPSO (Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading) vessels to ensure continued production. “This will stimulate not just the oil and gas sector but the local economy as a whole, creating the necessary infrastructure for hydrocarbon transportation,” said Nicolás Honorato, one of the event organizers, who added that there’s potential for further discoveries in the surrounding areas.

Onshore exploration and production have a diverse set of companies with varying production assets and great potential. Sergipe is home to Carmópolis, the most prolific onshore field in Brazil, and several other fields in production with new discoveries that are further driving local economic growth. “With expanding production on both land and sea, Sergipe justifies an event like SOG25 to showcase these opportunities and facilitate business connections,” Honorato concluded.

Diverse Program

The event will feature a wide range of activities, starting with the business fair, which will have approximately 70 stands where leading companies can present their solutions for the market, providing a perfect environment for networking and discovering new opportunities.

Another key attraction is the congress, which will offer a platform for discussing and analyzing sector trends in Sergipe, with participation from key industry players.

The business roundtable is another event that promises to attract attention. It will provide a structured environment for exclusive meetings between pre-selected suppliers and the main industry players in the state, with an expected value of R$ 200 million in transactions.

The ESG Arena will focus on discussing the challenges and opportunities for implementing environmental, social, and governance practices to promote sustainable development in the sector.

The Technical Section will allow professionals in oil and gas operations and maintenance to present best practices and technical papers that were previously submitted and selected.

SOG25 will also feature an innovation arena, dedicated to driving new technologies in the oil and gas industry, as well as a business arena where pre-selected companies will showcase their portfolios of services, products, and equipment for asset operation and maintenance in the sector.

Participants will also have the opportunity to join technical visits to companies in the segment, providing firsthand insight into local industry operations across five distinct routes.

Participating companies will gain visibility through sponsorships and space reservations in the fair. They will also have free access to the Congress lectures and Technical Arenas, and can submit papers for presentation in the Business Arena. Additionally, they can register for the Business Roundtable, where they will have the chance to meet directly with buyers from local oil companies.
