Swire Oilfield Services has today announced that Manfred Vonlanthen will succeed John Bruce (J.B) Rae-Smith as the company’s Chief Executive Officer. J.B. will be stepping down as CEO of Swire Oilfield Services due to personal reasons.

Manfred joined Swire Oilfield Services in 2014 as General Manager for the Norwegian division, before advancing to Director of North Sea in September 2016, where, in addition to managing the North Sea business, he has been a key member of the Executive Management team. Manfred brings a depth of technical and commercial experience to his new role, having previously held several senior management positions across a variety of industries including Agricultural Machinery, Oil & Gas Technology and Offshore Logistics.

Commenting on his appointment, Manfred said “I am delighted and honoured to have the opportunity to lead Swire Oilfield Services in the next exciting stage of its development. Our extended service diversification reflects the continuingly evolving nature of Swire Oilfield Services but also the industry as a whole. As our customers continue to streamline their operations we look to provide them with a complete turnkey solution, giving them the competitive edge and allowing them to succeed in the ever-changing business environment. I look forward to leading the Swire Oilfield Services team as we continue our mission to provide safe, highly cost efficient services and solutions to the cargo handling and logistics industry, while continuously striving to be the easiest company to work with."

Swire Oilfield Services, part of the global conglomerate John Swire & Sons, is the world's largest supplier of specialised offshore containers to the global energy industry, and is a leading supplier of offshore workspace, testing, inspection, maintenance and bespoke modification solutions.
