Tenaris featured a comprehensive range of products and services for offshore, deep and ultra-deepwater applications for the oil and gas industry at the Offshore Technology Conference in Rio de Janeiro (OTC Brasil) from October 27 – 29, 2015.

At booth H15, Tenaris technical representatives were available to discuss the company’s more than 20 years of experience and expertise in deepwater projects in Brazil and around the world. Tenaris had featured many of its premium connection technologies including the Wedge 623™ connection, which comes with Dopeless® technology. With Dopeless® technology, the use of contaminating thread compounds, grease and cleaning solvents is no longer required at the rig or yard for pipe storage and running operations. The BlueDock™ connector, which has been employed in various deepwater projects worldwide, was also on display.

The booth also featured offshore line pipe technologies. Information on Tenaris's coatings solutions, produced at its welded pipe facilities, was available including 3PE, 3PP, FBE, Internal Liquid Epoxy, Concrete, PUF (Polyurethane Foam) and 5LPP (Syntactic, Solid and Foam). Tenaris coatings can be used in ultra-deepwaters such as the Brazilian pre-salt.

Along with the integrated products and services provided by Tenaris, there were information about the R&D Center in Rio de Janeiro. The facility is located near the Rio de Janeiro Federal University (UFRJ) campus and others global oil and gas R&D Centers. One of the R&D Center’s main activities is testing and qualification of premium connections.

Based on the theme "The Atlantic: From East to West - An Ocean of Innovation," the OTC Brazil technical conference covered all aspects of offshore oil and gas development and exploration, including issues related to geology, geophysics and subsea technologies, offshore drilling and well systems, floating structures, advanced subsea production as well as integrity management to maintain offshore facilities operating safely and efficiently.
