Tenaris, the world leader in tubular solutions for the energy market opens today (15) your Center for Research and Development at Brazilian Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) in Technology Park, on Ilha do Fundão. The goal is to provide excellence resources, high technology and innovation to operations of the Brazilian energy sector.

The new unit, which received an investment of US$39 million, is located on a total area of 4,000 m², in which 2,386 m² will be occupied by the Technological Center. The main goal of the center is to develop products and technologies for OCTG, Linepipe and other markets - such as automotive, nuclear, mining and structural construction - besides the improvement of the products that are offered today in Brazil.

This is the fifth center of Tenaris R&D in the world, which reaffirms the company's position as a global leader in tubular products of high specification and performance. The other centers are in Argentina, Mexico, Italy and Japan.
