Usina Vertente, from Guaraci/SP, a UDOP member, celebrates its 20th anniversary this Monday (22). According to the Unit's Executive Director, Hugo Cagno Filho, Vertente is currently processing its 19th harvest, since the unit's first harvest took place in 2003.
"In our first harvest, we processed a total of 1 million tons of cane, already producing, at the time, sugar, anhydrous and hydrated ethanol and bioelectricity. For this year (2022) our perspective is to crush 2 million tons of cane and produce 156 thousand tons of sugar, 75 million liters of ethanol (anhydrous and hydrated) and 114 thousand megawatts of bioelectricity exported to the grid", highlighted Hugo Cagno Filho, who was elected president of the UDOP last July.
In these two decades since its foundation, Hugo Cagno highlights the investments made by the plant's partners, Grupo Humus and Grupo Tereos. "In 2014, in an unprecedented way, we expanded our processing capacity to 2.5 million tons of cane per harvest, with the installation of a 110-meter milling suit in front of the cane diffuser, which allowed us, for example, to an expansion in the production capacity of white sugar", highlighted the director of Vertente.
In 2023, the Plant will process its 20th harvest, always at the forefront in terms of technology and valuing its employees and partners.
