Data of Electric Energy Commercialization Chamber - CCEE show that the production of wind power plants of the National Interconnected System - SIN increased 38% in the first three months of 2016. Between January and March, the wind power generation reached 2,337 average MW front of 1,699 average MW produced in the same period last year.

 

The installed capacity of 6,011 MW source jump in March 2015 to 8,796 MW in the same period this year, an increase of 46%. In March, the SIN had 345 wind farms in operation.

 

In the analysis of generation by state, Rio Grande do Norte follows as the largest wind power producer with a total of 855.5 average MW delivered in March, 75% increase over the same period last year. Then appears the Bahia state with 601 average MW (+ 80.5%) produced, the Rio Grande do Sul with 477 average MW (+ 67%) and Ceará with 434 average MW (+ 97.5%).

 

The data on the installed capacity also point the Rio Grande do Norte in the lead with a total of 2,661 MW, a 29% increase over the same period last year. Next comes Bahia, which rose from 4th to 2nd place in the ranking with 1,720 MW (+ 79%). The states of Ceará with 1615.5 MW (+ 24%) and Rio Grande do Sul with 1,515 MW (+ 32%) occupy the 3rd and 4th positions respectively.
