WindSim AS, a pioneer and leading provider of CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) based wind modelling software and services technology used during the wind project life cycle from early site identification, energy optimization, site suitability, power forecasting to post construction assessment, today announced an expansion of its global operations with the upcoming opening of a new subsidiary in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The creation of WindSim Brasil Consultoria LTDA will enable corporations throughout Brazil to utilize WindSim's accurate and proven simulation software and consulting services to help design and operate more profitable wind farms, both onshore and offshore. "According to industry analysts, wind energy is the fastest growing source of power generation in Brazil. In 2015, more than 100 new wind farms are under construction with a total capacity of around 2.7 GW. "WindSim is experiencing great interest from prospective customers and partners in the Brazilian marketplace for our technology solutions. We appreciate the confidence shown by CASE Participacoes Ltda. in co-investing with us in this market opportunity," said John Olaf Romma, CEO WindSim AS.

"We are excited to partner with WindSim on the launch and growth of WindSim Brasil. There is a clear demand for more accurate studies, in order to protect investors and financer interests. The market is already realizing that CFD based solutions are the best way to have a proper energy production estimation," said Paulo Ferreira, CEO, CASE Participacoes Ltda.

WindSim's announcement comes four years after a successful joint venture in China, cutting-edge product innovation, and successive quarters of positive growth. The opening up of the Brazilian market is one of the international expansion efforts by WindSim AS. This year will also include expansion into South Africa.
