Located in Canoas in Rio Grande do Sul, the Alberto Pasqualini Refinery (Refap), broke the record for S-10 diesel sales in May. In the month, 134 thousand m³ of the product were sold, surpassing the previous mark, of August 2019, which was 119 thousand m³, by 12%.

As the forecast for withdrawing products from Refap is made by customers approximately two months in advance, which coincided with the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, there was an expectation of low sales for diesel in the period. “With the change in the scenario and the unexpected increase in demand, we had to adapt our industrial plant to serve customers. The result was possible thanks to the integrated work of the operational and commercial areas of the refinery ”, explains the general manager of Refap, Osvaldo Kawakami.

With a processing capacity of 32 thousand m³ of oil per day, Refap mainly serves the markets of Rio Grande do Sul, part of Santa Catarina and Paraná. In addition to diesel, the refinery produces gasoline, LPG, fuel oil, aviation kerosene, solvents (hexane, turpentine and petrosolve), asphalt, coke, sulfur and propylene.
