Petrobras successfully completed the operation test with instantaneous flow of 30 MM m3 / day (million cubic meters per day) of natural gas, carried out at the liquefied natural gas regasification terminal in Guanabara Bay (TR-BGUA), in Rio de Janeiro, becoming the new world record for regasification with the Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU).

All stages were monitored by a certifying company, in order to attest the TR-BGUA's ability to operate under the new proposed conditions, which is one of the requirements for the continuation of the authorization process for the expansion of the TR-BGUA's operational capacity from 20 to 30 MM m³ / day with the competent authorities, such as the State Environment Institute (INEA) and the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP).

About the unit

TR-BGUA is located in the Guanabara Bay (TABG) waterway terminal complex, in Rio de Janeiro, close to the Ilha D’Água terminal.

The terminal consists of an island-type pier with two berths for mooring and mooring an FSRU and a supply vessel, in the cross jetty configuration. The maximum current regasification capacity of the TR-BGUA is 20 MM m³ / d (@ 1 atm and 20 ° C), and it is in the process of obtaining new licenses and authorizations to expand the capacity to 30 MM m³ / d (@ 1 atm and 20 ° C).

The gas pipeline belonging to the terminal is 15 km long, with 10 km underwater and 5 km onshore, and 28 inches in diameter, connecting the TR-BGUA to the Campos Elíseos receiving station, where the interconnection with the integrated gas pipeline network takes place. transport.
