Wood Group GTS has been awarded a long-term contract by Rockland Capital to provide maintenance services for two GE Frame 7EA gas turbines at the company's 225MW Eagle Point Power Generation facility in Westville, New Jersey.
Wood Group GTS' solution will provide Eagle Point with parts, repairs, field services, installation of the ECOMAX® combustion management system, and remote monitoring and diagnostics to provide predictive performance management of the gas turbines. The contract will utilize Wood Group GTS' engineering and project management support to manage and plan all of the required maintenance.
The 13-year term maintenance contract is the second service agreement between Rockland Capital and Wood Group GTS. It follows successful major and hot gas path inspections performed in 2013, stemming from a forced outage event at the Eagle Point site.
"When we were faced with our unplanned outage last year, Wood Group GTS mobilized its engineering, project management, capital parts and service personnel to address the issue. They focused on a technical solution, leveraging their parts inventory and personnel while adhering to the tight schedule needed to meet our economic and contractual requirements of Eagle Point," said Ed Barndt, vice president of asset management at Rockland Capital. "Based on the excellent service, flexibility and company depth, we felt a longer term agreement was best to minimize future operational risk and guarantee increased performance."
"Wood Group GTS has structured its business to be able to efficiently respond to our customer's planned and unplanned events. With our core objective of improving our customers' returns on investment, we provide solutions that meet their operational goals, while minimizing the capital spend associated with gas turbine maintenance," said Frank Avery, president of Wood Group GTS - Power Plant Services. "This award strengthens our relationship with Rockland Capital and we look forward to enhancing their investment in power generation technology."
Long-term maintenance agreements are a part of Wood Group GTS' overall solutions designed to maximize the life of our customers' investments in gas turbine technology.
