The 20th WECP Annual General Meeting will feature the presence of major companies and representative institutions from the oil and gas sector during the first day of business activities, October 26.

First, multinationals, institutional players and government will all share scenarios, perspectives on opportunities and project a role of the WECP in the energy sector. The view of multinationals will be presented by André Araújo, president of Shell Brazil; Gilberto Peralta, president of GE Brazil; Pal Ertrheim, CEO of Statoil; and Stephane Vignet, president of Schlumberger Brazil.

Representatives from Brazilian sector institutions, Jorge Camargo, president of the Brazilian Oil Institute; Paulo Martins, president of ABESPETRO; and Bruno Musso, superintendent of ONIP, will paint a picture of the sector.

Closing the first day, Christine Helgø, Mayor of Stavanger (Norway); George Adam, Lord Provost of Aberdeen (Scotland); Gillian McCormack, VP for Calgary Economic Development (Canada); and Gareth Morgan, Department of Trade and Investment in Cape Town (South Africa), will talk about the WECP city markets.

Rio Negócios expects to gather 400 participants from 150 companies connected to the oil and gas sector, especially operators, suppliers and representative and academic institutions.

The seminars programmed by the WECP will take place on October 26 and 27, with events in the GE Global Research Center, at UFRJ Technology Park, and Riocentro. The WECP, entity which unites 23 energy hub cities from 19 of the main oil-producing countries in the world, will hold its Annual General Meeting for the first time in Rio de Janeiro, with the presence of 15 delegations, 9 of which will be led by Mayors.
