Marcio Felix, President of the Brazilian Association of Independent Oil and Gas Producers (ABPIP), met on Tuesday (24) with Federal Deputy Joaquim Passarinho (PL-PA), Chairman of the Mines and Energy Committee (CME) at the Chamber of Deputies.
During the meeting, ABPIP officially presented its 2026 Strategic Agenda, a document consolidating the association's main legislative and regulatory proposals and priorities for strengthening Brazil's independent oil and gas industry.
The Agenda outlines guidelines aimed at:
According to Marcio Felix, institutional dialogue with Congress is crucial to ensure legal security and adequate investment conditions: "The independent industry plays a strategic role in asset revitalization, job creation, and regional development. Our goal is to technically contribute to Parliament to improve legal and regulatory frameworks that guarantee competitiveness, predictability, and energy security for the country."
Beyond the bilateral meeting with the Committee Chairman, ABPIP also participated in a sectoral discussion with representatives from other companies and industry players, broadening the debate on priority issues for the oil and gas segment in the legislative sphere.
The Chamber of Deputies' Mines and Energy Committee analyzes proposals related to national energy policy, oil and natural gas exploration/production, mining, electric power, and energy transition, serving as one of the main discussion forums for sector-relevant matters.
By delivering the 2026 Strategic Agenda, ABPIP reinforces its technical and institutional engagement with Congress, contributing to public policies that balance economic competitiveness, energy security, and sustainable development.
