As of this Monday, June 1, natural gas will become cheaper in the Northwest region of the State of São Paulo, GasBrasiliano's concession area. The extraordinary readjustment published by Arsesp through resolution No. 997 on May 27, adjusts the price of natural gas according to each of the market segments in which the company operates - industrial, residential, commercial and automotive.

With the update, industries that consume up to 50,000 m³ per month will have a tariff reduction between -7.7% and -9.9%. For industries with consumption above 50,000 m³ per month, the reduction will vary between -11.1% and -12.7%. For the residential and commercial markets, the readjustment, depending on the consumption profile, will be up to -7%. Vehicle natural gas (CNG) will have a reduction of R $ 0.34, with taxes.

According to Arsesp, the tariff reduction is the result of measures to deal with the impacts caused by the coronavirus pandemic. “Arsesp has been seeking to approve measures that contribute to coping with the impacts caused by covid-19, while providing for strict compliance with the concession contract, the sustainability and economic-financial balance of the concessions and the low tariff. With the drop in gas prices charged by the supplier and the expectation that these reductions would be passed on to users later on, ARSESP anticipated this transfer ”, explains Edgar Perlotti, Superintendent of Economic and Financial Analysis at Arsesp.
