Average oil production under the sharing regime was 722,000 barrels per day (bpd) in August, up 4% from the previous month. Currently, six contracts are in production, with Búzios responsible for 423 thousand bpd, followed by Libra (111 thousand bpd), Sépia (100 thousand bpd), Atapu (77 thousand bpd), Entorno de Sapinhoá (7 thousand bpd) and Sudoeste de Green Turtle (4 thousand bpd). The average production of oil under Union law in the contracts was 31.6 thousand barrels per day, most of which came from Libra (17.2 thousand bpd). The data are from the Monthly Bulletin of Production Sharing Contracts prepared by Pré-Sal Petróleo (PPSA) and released this Tuesday, 18.
Average of the last 12 months
Since 2017, the beginning of the historical series, the production accumulated under the production sharing regime, until August, was 252 million barrels of oil, of which 17 million are under Union law.
Natural gas
The production of natural gas with commercial use, in August, averaged 2.13 million m³/day in three contracts, with 1.92 million m³/day coming from Búzios, 184 thousand m³/day from the surroundings of Sapinhoá and 29 thousand m³/day of Southwest Tartaruga Verde. The result is 8% higher than in July, driven by the increase in production at Sapinhoá and Búzios.
In the same month, the Union was entitled to an average production of 150,000 m³/day, most of which came from the surroundings of Sapinhoá (121,000 m³/day). Since 2017, the accumulated production of natural gas with commercial use, until August, totals 709 million m³, with the Union’s share of 138 million m³.
