This Monday (05/07), Bahiagás completed one year of receiving natural gas from Alvopetro. This supply led to the implementation, in Bahia, of the first private Natural Gas Processing Unit (UPGN) in the country, a milestone in the national industry.
“Bahiagás and Alvopetro celebrate, in this first anniversary, a partnership that has resulted in greater reliability in the delivery and competitiveness of the gas to supply the Bahian market”, says the CEO of the Company, Luiz Gavazza. "With this, we reinforce our commitment to provide cleaner, safer and more competitive energy to our customers."
The gas acquired by Bahiagás from Alvopetro is processed at UPGN in the Caburé Field, in the Recôncavo Basin. From there, energy is supplied to the Company's Custody Transfer Station (ETC), from where it is distributed to the market. “The distribution of this energy source has reinforced the development of this important productive area, which is the Recôncavo Baiano”, highlights the Market and After-Sales manager at Bahiagás, Makyo Felix.
Alvopetro President and CEO Corey Ruttan also celebrates the partnership. “We are very proud to celebrate the first anniversary of the start of production on our pioneering Caburé project. In this first year, we supplied more than 124 million cubic meters of natural gas. This clean natural gas helps users in the state of Bahia to have one of the most competitive energy sources in Brazil”, he stresses.
The general director of Alvopetro, Frederico Oliveira (photo), highlights the mutual work between the two companies. “We would like to thank the teams at Bahiagás and Alvopetro who worked tirelessly to make this project a reality during a very challenging period. Our effort to make this project a reality has generated more than 400 local jobs during construction and more than 50 permanent jobs, with zero lost time security incidents and 100% plant availability.”
