With over 1,500 participants, Brazil brings the largest international delegation to the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston.

The opening of the Brazil Pavilion was attended by Floriano Pesaro, Director of Corporate Management at ApexBrasil; Idarilho Nascimento, Chairman of the Oil & Gas Board at ABIMAQ; Ambassador Breno Dias da Costa, Consul General of Brazil in Houston; Roberto Ardenghy, President of IBP (Brazilian Petroleum Institute); Renata Baruzzi, Director of Engineering at Petrobras; Senator Josiel Alcolumbre, President of Sebrae Amapá; Clécio Luís Vilhena Vieira, Governor of Amapá; Fábio Mitidieri, Governor of Sergipe; Luiz Césio Caetano, President of FIRJAN; Eduardo Eugênio, also representing FIRJAN; Igor Brandão, Head of the ApexBrasil Miami Office; Sergio Bacci, President of Transpetro; Carla Lacerda, President of BRATECC; Carlos Agenor Cabral, Director at Brazil’s Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME); Thiago Prado, President of EPE (Energy Research Office); Admiral Lima Filho, Director at ANTAQ; Alberto Machado Neto, Executive Director of Oil, Gas, Natural Gas, Bioenergy, Hydrogen and Petrochemicals at ABIMAQ; Patrícia Gomes, Executive Director of Foreign Market at Abimaq and Manager of the Sectorial Project; Paolo Fiorletta, Manufacturing Director at ABEMI – Brazilian Association of Industrial Engineering; Marcelo Muller, Director at ABEMI; representatives from Petrobras; Cynthia Silveira, Executive Director of ONIP; Tabita Loureiro, President of PPSA; Marcos Vasconcellos, Manager of Energy and Business Connections at SEBRAE RJ; Alex Carvalho, President of FIEPA – Federation of Industries of the State of Pará; Wandenberg Pitaluga Filho, President of the Amapá Development Agency; Alexandre Reis, Director of the Port of Suape; representatives from Porto do Açu – Prumo; and Roberto Campos de Lima, Director at FINDES.

In partnership with IBP (Brazilian Petroleum Institute), Brazil also hosted a featured session at OTC, titled “Setting the Scene in Brazil: An Anticipation of What Is Coming,” which discussed the future of the country’s energy sector. The panel featured Magda Chambriard, President of Petrobras, who highlighted the company’s unique expertise in deep and ultra-deepwater exploration.

Brazil’s participation in this year’s OTC brought new highlights, particularly the strengthened partnership with Abimaq and the increased visibility for Brazilian companies in the maritime, energy, and equipment sectors. According to ApexBrasil Director Floriano Pesaro, the initiative aims to expand the role of Brazil’s machinery and equipment industry in the oil and gas sector, generating jobs and boosting the country’s industrial potential.
