Alternative energy developers in Brazil applied to sell power from 570 plants in a renewable-energy auction planned for 2015.

Projects totaling 14,962 megawatts are registered for the April 27 event, according to an e-mailed statement today from Brazil’s energy research agency, known as EPE.

Developers registered 530 wind farms, with 12,895 megawatts of capacity, and 40 biomass plants with 2,067 megawatts. In Brazil’s energy auctions, companies compete for long-term contracts to sell electricity from power projects they’re planning to build.
