"Decarbonization has already boarded the FPSOs" is the key focus of the third edition of the SPE Brazil FPSO Symposium, organized by the Brazil and Macaé sections of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). The event kicked off today in Rio de Janeiro and will run until tomorrow (27).

From the start-up and production of the first oil to the decommissioning of a unit, the main aspects of FPSO operations will be discussed at this international event, which gathers oil companies, operators, shipowners, and suppliers of goods and services from this production chain.

The symposium, with two plenary sessions (opening and closing) and five technical sessions, will discuss relevant topics, such as lessons learned at various stages of the life cycle of this type of unit, new technologies implemented to reduce emissions and increase operational efficiency and safety, which today have a strong impact on financing for new FPSOs, as well as innovative solutions to ensure the integrity of these assets.
