Firjan's Oil and Gas Business Council (P&G) held a meeting between the market entrepreneurs,on 6/12, and received Alfredo Renault (photo), Superintendent of Research and Technological Development of the National Oil Agency, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP). The meeting addressed changes to the ANP's Research, Development and Innovation (RD&I) Clause Regulations. The objective was to clarify how the investment in innovation should be made, so that there are no errors that may prevent compliance with the standard.

“It is necessary to open the mind to the innovation process, to be aware of the international issue, as projects demand a more global view. Brazil needs to make a leap in the effectiveness of its innovation. We have to build more and more opportunities for value addition through these resources, ”explained Renault. The R & D Clause determines the investment of 1% of gross revenue from field production, in contracts that pay special participation and in production sharing.

Chairman of the Board, Philippe Blanchard considered the partnership important to discuss common market themes and to try to find solutions with different types of stakeholders. “It is very interesting to bring together operators, suppliers and people from abroad to gain insight into our work and to move forward to solve problems. And the Firjan Council offers this opportunity, ”he said, who is president of Total Brasil.

Karine Fragoso, Firjan's Oil, Gas and Naval Manager and superintendent of the National Petroleum Industry Organization (ONIP), stressed that the meeting was part of the Council's Technology Center's dialogue with the ANP. "It is an exchange that consists of an open and frank conversation, so that the new regulation is released, is aligned with the needs of the industry and opens new ways of commitment of resources," he said.

The initiative to bring Alfredo Renault to the debate was praised by Ana Paula Lougon, Schlumberger's chief technology officer. "The changes were significant and I am very grateful to the federation for addressing and sharing the experience of this scenario in Brazil that we are living in," he said.
