Flexomarine delivers marine hoses to Petrobras’ UOTE Project

Flexomarine, Brazilian producer of offshore marine hoses, sold 45 submarine hoses to Bluewater to be installed in Petrobras’ Offshore Transfer and Export Units (UOTE).  UOTE is a high seas advanced terminal designed to transfer oil from a dynamic positioning (DP) vessel to an FSO, which, in turn, distributes the load by two mooring buoys which transfer oil to shuttle tankers, responsible to transport the oil to its final destination, either in Brazil or abroad.  Therefore, the shuttle tankers do not need to go to an onshore marine terminal, increasing efficiency and agility in the high seas oil offloading process.  The transfer capacity is of 240,000 barrels per day, with total storage of two million bbl.

According to the figure below, the supplied submarine hoses have the purpose to transfer oil to the FSO 70 meters below sea level, where are then connected to the PLEMs and PLETs and distributed to the mooring buoys, which offload to the exporting vessels.  As a result with the boldness and innovation of the Project, Flexomarine, with great conviction of its products’ quality, met the requests of both Bluewater and Petrobras, also offering a two-year extended warranty on the hoses.
